Hydromodule Test Stand

This system automatically flushed and tested finished Hydromodule assemblies and recorded the test data. Manual operations included loading and unloading the station with the aid of a hoist and inserting four plugs and one orifice screw.

The Hydromodule Test Stand incorporated technology that the customer had not utilized previously. These aspects included a 200 hp drive motor and hydraulic ‘load/brake’ motor with belt drives, pneumatic safety clutches and torque transducers, a quick-load and quick-connect design for the 350-pound pump units, a sliding-cover test bed area to accommodate internal and external cleaning flushes, new Controls/Testing software using CVI LabView with National Instruments equipment, and particle count evaluation of the hydraulic fluid to monitor unit assembly cleanliness. All of this was built onto a large, single-unit machine base.
