JR Automation Awarded Funding for New Machining and Fabrication Facility

As a result of a generous $2.395 million investment from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the State of Michigan, JR Automation will build an all-new machining and fabrication facility near its headquarters in Holland, Michigan.   The award was announced by the state on May 24 and will result in over 140 new, high-paying jobs for the local economy.

Funding provided will go towards JR Automation’s nearly $10 million renovation of an existing facility at 40 East 64th Street in Holland, Michigan.  The location, which formerly housed Genzink Steel until its closure in 2021, has been the temporary home of JR Automation’s machining and fabrication division following a fire at its previous facility.  When complete, the facility provides the company with a significant increase in floor space, allowing it to provide more services in-house, reducing cost and timeframes for its customers.

“The State of Michigan and the MEDC continue to demonstrate their commitment towards keeping Michigan businesses competitive in the global landscape. Through their generous support and the hard work of Lakeshore Advantage, JR Automation will be creating one of the top machining and fabrication facilities in West Michigan, expanding our capabilities while allowing for more control and speed in delivering industry best solutions for our customers,” said Craig Ulrich, Chief Executive Officer of JR Automation.

Work will begin shortly, and it is estimated to take six months to complete.  When finished, the location will be one of the premier machining and fabrication facilities in Michigan.
