Position Summary
Position Title: Project Engineer (Integrated Layout)
FLSA Classification: Exempt (Salary)
Reporting to: Engineering Manager, Group Manager or Director

Essential Functions:
- Coordination of all internal and external integrated layout design activities
- Works closely with Manufacturing, Controls Engineering and Project Management to follow a project from its inception to the final customer acceptance and sign-off, provides follow up and support after this point
- Reviews and releases final engineering drawings to the manufacturing department
- Develop & maintain good relationships with customers & suppliers
- Organizes and participates in system layout review meetings for internal, as well as outsourced, designs
- Gather required project information from Customers & Suppliers to create specifications
- Develops layout specifications for the internal mechanical design by outside vendors; ensures the selected suppliers follow Esys processes and meet project quality and delivery expectations, as well as maintaining the appropriate budget
- Document information, decisions, changes related to system layout, etc. from Customers & Suppliers
- Conduct proper line ups when handing projects off to Esys Integration for Build
- Complete project related purchase requests for system layout work and provide to purchasing
- Travel to Supplier and Customer sites when required
- Provides project specific direction to design suppliers
- Perform design and build buy-offs & quality checks
- Reviews all mechanical engineering drawings prior to final release, ensuring compliance for customer buyoff
- Ensures that Esys products and services continue to be the benchmark within the industry
- Demonstrates a commitment to Esys Core Beliefs
- Understand and employ the Esys Quality Management System
- Demonstrates a commitment to safe work practices while on Esys or the customer’s premises
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to meet deadlines without endangering the integrity of the equipment or compromising safety requirements
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and suppliers, while maintaining a positive working relationship
- Ability to work onsite within the Esys offices or at customer locations as required
- Expert proficiency with 3D AutoCad
- Proficiency with FactoryCad software and General Motors FCAD library
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, as well as Google Applications (such as Gmail, Calendar and Docs)
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical design software applications (SolidWorks preferred)
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other closely-related engineering discipline
- 5+ years of design and engineering experience related to custom machinery and/or capital equipment
- 3+ years of experience in a project-build, manufacturing environment
