Position Summary

Essential Functions
:

  • Responsible for managing key customer accounts for a range of automation products and solutions
  • Work closely with current and prospective customers to understand business needs and make recommendations that will maintain and grow sales
  • Strengthen strategic partnerships with customers, engineering and quality personnel to increase focus on Win-Win
  • CRM Knowledge and responsible for keeping CRM up to date with the status of each Single Sales Objective (SSO)
    • CRM data in aggregate is key to making well informed business decisions
  • Maintains a positive attitude and "unified management front" to all employees
  • Examine current customer process flow issues and present automation solutions
  • Development and generation of solutions exploiting Esys enabling technology (products) and Process Knowledge in BiW, Powertrain, Press & Polymers, Paint / Dispense, and General Assembly
  • Lead the Esys team for completion of Miller Heiman Blue/Gold/Green sheets accordingly, per opportunity need
  • Investigate new customer designs and develop opportunities for future sales
  • Establish and maintain long term, positive working relationships with customers and internal team members
  • Project Manage the entire pursuit, estimating and proposal process
    • Partner with Estimating to properly evaluate proposals and provides necessary engineering input
  • Establish bidding timeline and manage pursuit to schedule, quote review meetings/estimate idles
  • Work independently and/or with sales team to craft winning strategies for each pursuit
  • Formulate bid specifications to obtain vender, supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Solicit inquiries, present quotes, negotiate prices and contracts to increase Esys’s customer base
  • Define manufacturing processes, concept cell layouts, and cycle time analysis
  • Create Scope of Work and provide information/direction to all Esys Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing personnel, so that those functions can ensure products are priced, produced, certified and delivered as per customer specifications
  • Develop, prepare, and evaluate automated and/or secondary equipment proposals based upon customer’s specifications, past job experience and lessons learned techniques
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to determine project requirements
  • Elevate all issues appropriately to ensure a smooth proposal process
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with external subcontractors and recommends outsourcing when necessary; assists Project Managers with technical oversight of outsourced work
  • Demonstrate and promote a commitment to Esys Core Beliefs
  • Ensures that Esys products and services continue to provide the benchmark within the industry
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safe work practices while on Esys or the customer’s premises
  • Understand and effectively employs the Esys Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Other duties as assigned

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Intermediate understanding of machine design, electrical circuits, electrical panel design, pneumatic design, hydraulic design, and PLC's
  • Ability to demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, as well as Google Applications (such as Gmail, Calendar and Docs)
  • Ability to work onsite within the Esys offices, customer and supplier locations as required
  • Ability to meet deadlines without endangering the safety of himself/herself or others, or the integrity of the equipment
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers, and maintain a positive working relationship, which at times may be under difficult circumstances and/or high-pressure situations
  • Technical/Functional Understanding: Able to serve as a source of technical/functional issues & perspective to others; demonstrate a breadth of technical/functional knowledge outside of core specialty
  • Excellent sales and negotiating skills combined with engineering knowledge with customer products
  • Effective verbal and written skills, along with customer service skills, self-confidence, resilience and assertiveness

 Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or Business Administration or Technical Diploma with three years of college-level study or 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in the automotive/machine tool industry; sales experience selling to an OEM or Tier 1 Company is an asset
