Position Summary

The People Engagement Partner supports the organization as it relates to human resource management, employee development, customer service and other Human Resources-related functions. This position encompasses both day-to-day tasks as well as project-based work which includes, but is not limited to, consulting with management, providing daily HR guidance, analyzing trends and metrics within the PE department, and resolving employee relations issues.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues; conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support recruiting efforts
  • Leads wellness initiatives; works with internal team members to develop a committee, lead and gain participation in various wellness events
  • Assists with the annual open enrollment process; participates in benefit planning meetings, edits and arranges distribution of open enrollment materials, assists with communicating to team members and helps facilitate open enrollment meetings
  • Supports the assessment of organizational needs and the design, implementation and evaluation of programs that facilitate the professional development and continuous learning of team members
  • Assists team members with locating appropriate training resources, registration and follow-up
  • Facilitates internal training for team members by presenting on various topics
  • Designs and develops reports from the HRIS system ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Analyzes data from various systems to report out metrics, create dashboards, etc.
  • Assists with technical system implementations such as HRIS and/or LMS
  • Assists with company and community outreach events
  • Works closely with other business units to evaluate, implement and maintain various programs such as local college training and grant reimbursements, student/industry visits and apprenticeship programs
  • Assists with Immigration efforts which may include gathering data for H-1B Applications and Student (F/J) Visas, Permanent Residence as well as providing documentation for TN Applications and Renewals
  • Takes the lead on other PE-related projects and tasks
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Esys Core Beliefs
  • Upholds and becomes an integral part of the Esys culture
  • Understand and effectively employ the Esys Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced customer service skills, with the ability to work with all levels of an organization
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Advanced technical ability when it comes to understanding HRIS systems, implementing HRIS programs, providing insight on such programs to other team members and preparing and analyzing data
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, make appropriate decisions, and be comfortable in a setting where schedules and priorities change daily
  • Ability to work onsite within the Esys offices as required
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and professionally work with others in a team setting
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding any information that may of a sensitive nature
  • Ability to lead presentations in a variety of settings
  • Ability to start a new or take an existing project and bring to completion
  • Ability to travel between Sterling Heights, Auburn Hills and Holland, MI locations
  • Self-starter who can take tasks to completion with little oversight

 

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field; applicable experience and/or relevant Human Resource certifications may be recognized in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience within Human Resources, Employee Relations, or Organizational Development
  • Prior experience utilizing an HRIS

 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • (S)PHR, SHRM-(S)CP preferred
  • Experience with UltiPro, Cornerstone or Workday

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None

 

Work Environment:

  • Position typically operates in a professional office environment
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, scanners, plotters, printers and fax machines
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

 

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear
  • Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities require the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Occasional travel by car and/or plane to company facilities or advisor locations may be required

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

  • The People Engagement Partner is a full-time, exempt position
  • The position may require extended hours
